Windows Server 2012 Standard is the successor version of Windows Server R2 Standard 2008. As a Server operating system born out of Win 8, Windows 2012 Standard offers new features such as the modern user interface of Windows 8, numerous new features and programmes, as well as typical server functions, always with a high level of design and performance.

An all-rounder when it comes to server management

Windows Server 2012 Standard offers you a reliable operating system with a modern, touch-screen-optimised user interface, new features and many other improvements. Windows 2012 Standard allows the installation of the Core only, which saves resources by not using the graphical user interface. Using the Core alone, the Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Standard operating system can be configured using the PowerShell and Windows command prompt. The Windows Server 2012 Standard Core is configured by default, thus freeing up resources for applications. This is particularly useful when using SQL Server or Hyper-V.

The Windows Server Standard 2012 includes new features, such as a revised Task Manager, categorised executions, processing and suspending of idle applications, as well as improvements. In addition, the new interface simplifies the identification of applications.
